This Monday we’re avoiding the cliche red-white-and-blue color combination, but only with minimal effort. While actual sea coral comes in a variety of hues, a special shade of orangey-red seems to be our collective favorite. It’s a rather complex color when you really think about it, invoking references to both fire and water. Deep thoughts on the duplicitous nature of colors.. that’s what Monday mornings were made for, no?

Today we’re bringing you another bundle of inspiration sourced from the vintage aisles of the Rose Bowl Flea Market in Pasadena, CA. African printing techniques and motifs have been trending recently, as seen in Burberry Spring ’12, and Marni’s capsule for H&M. Of course, the vintage vendors know this and have plenty of eye candy to entice the many hippies, hipsters, fashionistas. Oh yeah, and textile designers. duh.
