Have you ever wondered how to incorporate our Monday Color Moods into your own personal style? We teamed up with Rachel of Fair Vanity, a Washington D.C. based blog focused on fair trade fashion and accessories, to bring you a fun style challenge with exactly that in mind…

And it really couldn’t be much easier. Start by picking out a color board to use as your inspiration, and style yourself an ensemble featuring at least ONE fair trade item. This includes anything made from sustainable materials, made in the USA [or your home country, for my international peeps], vegan, organic, up-cycled, vintage or hand-made. Snap a photo to submit by the November 1st deadline to see your style featured on the Fair Vanity blog! Camera shy? We’ve got you covered. Show us your color mood with a crafty collage like the one below.

Rachel chose A Hint of Mint, and even I got in on the action just to show you all how simple it can be [choosing Primary Agenda]. Email your image to Rachel by Nov. 1 to see your style on Fair Vanity, and see the original post for full details and guidelines.

It’s Monday, which means only two weeks remain in our countdown until the opening of the Fall/Winter Los Angeles Textile Show. In addition to showing the newest Aaryn West prints, we’re excited to report we’ll also be showing prints by Hunt+Gather Studio, another super cool print studio based out of Taos, New Mexico. More details and booth number to be announced shortly, but for now mark your calenders for October 22-24.

Last October while exhibiting at the LA Textile Show I had the pleasure of meeting the one and only LA Shoegirl, a style savvy footwear designer named Nalini Arora. If you’re familiar with this blog, you may recall that she featured one of our prints and did a mini interview a while back, in her swatch of the week.

This time she’s really hooked us up, incorporating one of her favorite prints from our collection into a custom-designed (and extremely drool-worthy) pair of shoes. Boots, actually, and the ones I’ve been coveting for a while.. and just to be an overachiever she designed an extra pair for herself! (Yes, thank you, I’ll take one of each, please.) I love how she really deconstructs her inspiration and it’s relationship to the final product. Make sure to see the original post for all the great details she put into her design process!
