Unless you’re a photographer, the word ‘bokeh’ might be a new one for you. It’s a Japanese term for the blurred, out-of-focus effect used in photographs, often resembling ethereal dots of color and light. Technical jargon aside, I think we can all agree it’s rad, and makes for the perfect marriage of photography and abstract textile design.

As fans of the rising trend of digital printing, we swooned over these intricately detailed architectural prints from the Fall 2013 runway shows. Although it may not be the easiest trend to capture, it’s multidisciplinary approach of merging photography, sculpture and architecture into a high fashion format is truly eye catching.

Every season seems to bring it’s fair share of conversational (novelty) prints, however this Fall they got a rather sophisticated upgrade. Skulls, spiritual symbols, and party paraphernalia were just a few of the motifs touched on by this blinged-out trend, and much to our delight. Give your accessories the night off, there are other ways to wear your jewelry.
