With the new Spring shows literally just around the corner, I’ve nearly missed the window of opportunity to gush about all the incredible print trends the Resort collections had to offer. Alas, the goodness shall not be wasted. I’ll be recapping my favorite trends over the next few days, starting with a set of florals that would be worthy of any local art gallery. Paired with bold stripes, fragmented, and tossed with artful, expressive brush strokes – these postmodern florals have a quirky sophistication.

July was just bonkers. If you noticed the recent drop in posts you’ve probably already figured that out. But it was a good kind of busy, with exciting new projects and developments, and a little bit of fun on the side. So without further ado I’m bringing you another big time trend from the Resort 2013 collections. I’m still not certain that the mass population is ready to full-on embrace the head-to-toe printed ensemble, particularly the matching pant suit. These designers, however, are clearly ready. From simple to statement and everywhere in between; would you give one of these looks a whirl?

Just when I thought this fall might bring a shift towards minimalism as designers {potentially} grow weary of prints, Suno saves the day. There are so many print themes to love in this collection, from the chic neutral countryside, to the new classic; the printed LBD. Am I nutty to think there’s a little something here for everyone? The ornately detailed designs of Ancient Egypt are highly regarded at this art studio, which is why we’d like to see it become a bigger trend. I’ve seen trickles of it here and there for a good while, but nothing near the scope of the tribal trends of the last year or so. The most abundant and popular interpretations seem to be in the form of jewelry, so when Mara Hoffman’s King Tut print became available on bags, swim suits and dresses, we pretty much flipped out. Do you think ancient Egyptian motifs have staying power in surface design? Do you think it would work for interiors? Discuss!
