This weekend brings the unofficial start of summer here in the States, so this Monday we bring you an appropriately themed color story in the hopes of heating things up a bit. Wherever you may be, hope you’re off to a great week!
After a little online shopping one thing is clear: it’s definitely the season of printed shoes. Sandals, ballet flats, heels, boots, or 4″ platforms; you can find all of those and more in a stupid crazy array of prints. Whatever your style may be, there’s bound to be a pair with your name on it. Style them with jeans and a tee, or an LBD to let your feet lap up the attention. Or pull on a printed frock for a snazzy print-mixing look. Below are a few of my favorites, but it’s a drop in the bucket compared to what’s out there. Which ones are screaming your name?
This week’s color palette has some back story, and is the basis of a long-running argument between myself and my dear friend, Thomas. It all boils down to a response he made many years ago, regarding a color combination I sported one day in high school. He declared that purple and brown absolutely do not make a legitimate color combination, which of course defies all of my color-loving logic. To this day we agree to disagree, but I’m the textile designer, and he flies jets for a living.
