Unless you’re a photographer, the word ‘bokeh’ might be a new one for you. It’s a Japanese term for the blurred, out-of-focus effect used in photographs, often resembling ethereal dots of color and light. Technical jargon aside, I think we can all agree it’s rad, and makes for the perfect marriage of photography and abstract textile design.

As fans of the rising trend of digital printing, we swooned over these intricately detailed architectural prints from the Fall 2013 runway shows. Although it may not be the easiest trend to capture, it’s multidisciplinary approach of merging photography, sculpture and architecture into a high fashion format is truly eye catching.

Basic geo prints get a black tie upgrade in these sleek and sultry designs from the Fall 2013 runway shows. Bold shapes, linear elements and symmetry are the key elements needed to capture this print trend. This is definitely the type of LBD we like to see here at Aaryn West.

July was just bonkers. If you noticed the recent drop in posts you’ve probably already figured that out. But it was a good kind of busy, with exciting new projects and developments, and a little bit of fun on the side. So without further ado I’m bringing you another big time trend from the Resort 2013 collections. I’m still not certain that the mass population is ready to full-on embrace the head-to-toe printed ensemble, particularly the matching pant suit. These designers, however, are clearly ready. From simple to statement and everywhere in between; would you give one of these looks a whirl?
