I nearly freaked out when I discovered this giant mural in the Highland Park area of Los Angeles, which was so large and varied that I may come back for another shoot later in this photo series. This week marks the halfway point of my pregnancy, and I’m enjoying what’s generally billed as the easiest part of this crazy ride. The nausea has subsided, I’ve got a surge of energy lately, and it’s exciting to explore the forgotten depths of my closet as my belly continues to grow. All I can really say is that my life long addiction to knits is really paying off, and it’s possible I might make it all the way to the end without buying any proper maternity clothes.

Once again we returned to the Arts District in downtown Los Angeles to shoot against one of the many painted walls you can find in that neighborhood. The weather was gorgeous, and so sunny that I couldn’t even remove my sunglasses to take a decent picture. My bump is still pretty small here, and probably looks more like a beer belly to those who don’t know me, but I’m super excited to see it growing.
